L-Carnitine is a non-essential amino acid, which can be formed in parts by the body itself. However, especially for athletes, the body's own production is often not sufficient. L-Carnitine itself is involved in many metabolic processes in the body. One of the most important and best known metabolic processes in which L-carnitine is significantly involved is the transport of fat to the cell. In the cell, fat is then burned in the form of energy.
Acetyl L-Carntine is clearly different from conventional L-Carnitine. This is a different form of L-Carnitine, the L-Carntine molecule is esterified in this form. This has the consequence that it is much better absorbed by the body, because the ALC can pass the blood-brain barrier. This means that L-Carntine is available to the body more quickly and the mode of action is improved.
