The term GDA is known to most, it stands for Glucose Disposal Agents. Simply put, a GDA is a product that can help process glucose better. When your body can optimally utilize the glucose you ingest, there is a significantly reduced rise in blood glucose levels.
A stable blood glucose level brings many benefits. When glucose is absorbed, the body secretes insulin. In simple terms, insulin is the antagonist of blood glucose. If the blood glucose level rises, insulin ensures that it subsequently falls again. However, since the body cannot estimate how much food is still being consumed, it often releases too much insulin when blood glucose levels rise sharply. It therefore tries to counteract this quickly. This in turn can lead to a sharp drop in blood glucose, which is noticeable through fatigue, decreasing concentration and a renewed feeling of hunger.
A GDA product makes sense in different cases. The application is obvious when large amounts of glucose (carbohydrates) are consumed. Also a temporally determined intake can make sense. Especially during training and after the last meal, because you should avoid blood sugar fluctuations at these times! The same applies to the intake before cardio training. Also during the endurance loads the income is quite meaningful, since fluctuations of the blood sugar can affect among other things influence on the fat burn.
But be careful: Do not take GDA on an empty stomach before cardio! This can lead to a sharp drop in blood sugar!
