Astaxanthin is a so-called carotenoid, which is responsible, among other things, for the bright colors of vegetables and fruits. Why tomatoes are red? Because carotenoids do just that. For example, they also cause carrots, oranges and corn kernels to be yellow or orange. In total, there are over 700 different carotenoids. Astaxanthin is one of the best antioxidants you can take as a supplement.
